GREENWICH TAX ASSESSOR

Town office responsible for the values assigned for taxation purposes to all real estate and personal property in Greenwich. All property is assessed at 70% of market value. Revaluation is mandated by state law every 4 years. A full physical revaluation, with appraisers inspecting property to determine value, is done every five years.  This is known as the Grand List. Changes in the mill rate are voted upon annually in MAY, and take effect with the tax billing in JUL. Taxes are paid in July and January.
