THE MELNIKOFF FOUNDATION FOR KIDNEY CANCER RESEARCH

The foundation raises money for research to be conducted by the Memorial Sloan Kettering Translational Kidney Cancer Research Program (TKCRP). The TKCRP was established by Drs. James Hsieh, Robert Motzer and Paul Russo and serves as a powerful platform to integrate the expertise of multiple disciplines, with the singular goal of curing kidney cancer. The TKCRP is unique in that it acts as a hub for a network of investigators and institutions nationwide, including the Cancer Genome Atlas, Harvard University, Washington University, MD Anderson and many more. There are currently seven drugs that are approved for metastatic kidney cancer and of these, the TKCRP participated in or led to the development of five. With our help, the TKCRP will be able to pioneer the development and refinement of targeted therapies for kidney cancer and further prolong the lives of those affected by metastatic kidney cancer and search for an effective adjutant therapy to reduce the risk of kidney cancer returning in other organs.
